"Tu Primero, Mi Amor" by Ryan Scheer

This piece serves as an homage to Ryan's wife and brings into question the idea of considering what life will be like when the inevitable happens. One of us will end up alone upon the death of another. With that in mind, Ryan painted the phrase "Tu Primero, Mi Amor" onto the canvas and distressed "Tu Primero" enough that the viewer has to look for it. Paying homage to his love of how the Mexican culture celebrates death, Ryan dressed his wife in a traditional dia de los muertos outfit and pasted the image onto the distressed canvas.
