"Hi -Ho or Hi -Yo?" by Ryan Scheer

Departing from his "pure photography" roots, Ryan has began to experiment with alternative techniques to bring his imagery alive. In "Hi-Ho or Hi Yo?", Ryan paints a backdrop on wood panel and then pastes the image on top of the backdrop. By printing the image on thin Japanese Washi paper, the backdrop is able to show through in spots throughout the image, giving the image a worn aesthetic that resembles the look of concert posters pasted outside of music venues.
