In his "Western Nostalgia" series, Ryan uses the wet plate collodion photography technique from the late 1800's to capture photos inspired by his youth spent growing up on Colorado ranches. The photographic method lends itself to creating macro worlds that bring Ryan's handmade dioramas to life.
